Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly comes from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's practice in law is focused on family law. She has a love for it. She concentrates a large portion of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes property distribution in marital relationships and child custody battles. child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues as well as step-parent and private party adoptions as well as concerns about child welfare. After completing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she earned dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. When she graduated in 2013, she excelled academically, ranking among the top 10 students in her class. While in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the esteemed Western New England Law Review and demonstrated her dedication to legal scholarship and research.
Ashley began her clerkship path after completing her law degree. She worked for renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to serve as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014 she returned to her home town of Hagerstown to clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long at the Washington County Circuit Court, deepening her understanding of the local legal landscape. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her main focus at the firm involved representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters pertaining to child welfare. Through her tireless efforts, Ashley played a vital role in assisting children who were victims of abuse or neglect at the by their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social justice spanned beyond the legal realm as she was active as an officer of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force working tirelessly to raise awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state area.
In 2017 she was a founding partner at Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and developed her expertise in family law including divorce, custody and child maintenance as well as guardianships – as well as financial planning and estate planning – wills, trusts, power of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy – and mediation.
Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023, with the aim of providing a personalized approach for every client's needs.
