Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's practice in law is focused on family law. She has a love for it. She concentrates the majority of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes property distribution in marital relationships child custody battles child support arrangements, postnuptial and prenuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement and issues including step-parent and private parties adoptions, as well as concerns about child welfare. After finishing her undergraduate education at Loyola University of Maryland, where she earned dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was placed among the top 10 students of her class. While in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the prestigious Western New England Law Review and demonstrated her dedication to legal scholarship and research.
Following the completion of her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship experience, working for notable jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She had the privilege of working as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014 she returned home to her hometown of Hagerstown to clerk for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main responsibilities at the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases concerning child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work played a crucial role in helping children who suffered neglect or abuse at the of their caregivers or parents. Her commitment to social injustice extended beyond her legal career as she served as an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to raise awareness regarding human trafficking in the tri-state region.
In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and established her practice in family law - custody, divorce and child maintenance, as well as guardianships – as well as financial and estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy and mediation.
